Introduction

Hi, my name is Jaiden Connell.
This blog is going to be me explaining my occurrences in my everyday life, how I feel about them, explain them and to try and discover my true self simultaneously.

I'll start of by talking about myself, which includes my interests/hobbies, habits, personality and many more attributes of mine.

I love to play the guitar, at this current point of time, I own a 1967 American Sunburst Fender Stratocaster and a Line 6 Spider IV 30, with three effects: Big Muff, Cry Baby Wah-Wah and a Radial London Bones Distortion Pedal.

My personality can be explained as a 'too myself' type of guy, but I'm most definitely 'out there' with my friends and people that I either know well or that are close.

I love to read, especially Stephen King (he is my favourite author, nobody comes close). I am excited as I just ordered arguably Stephen King's best work 'The Stand', also ordering 'Salem's Lot' which seems interesting. 'The Divine Comedy' by Dante is a work that initially confused me but gradually interested me, eventually making me want to read it, so I bought it.

What would the world ever do without music? This is a question that I continually ask myself and my friends and I believe this is the true 'million dollar question'. Let's be honest, there are many necessities and wants in our world today, every single item that this world contains can be allocated into either category, but Music can be allocated into both categories. I truly believe Music is a wonderful thing, and a world without it would be both peculiar and depressing.

Music is not just a sound to our ears, word's coming out of someone's mouth, or a guitar making an epic bend but a message and story to all listeners about life, how to live it and how to not make mistakes that other people have made. It connects with us spiritually and is a great motivation for many, including me. Music aspires me to do a lot of things. Every single song I listen to gives me a message, I sometimes take motivation from that message and apply it to my agenda and routine to help me get through certain obstacles or to constantly inform myself that life is short, that I should relish it and get out there and do something about it, fight for what I believe in.

There are a few songs that come to mind when I think about this concept of messages being sent through Music, but a notable song (and a popular song amongst the world too) that's lyrics struck me was 'Wish You Were Here' by Pink Floyd. These lyrics are ingenius as they reflect on the ex-singer Syd Barret who left the band due to indifferences both musically and socially. One line reflects on how the people of today's world react to social change and try to fit into that in order to feel needed or liked, instead of fighting for what they believe in and stand for what may be right or just. The lyrics, "And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?", confirm this theory, and emphasises Syd Barret's problem that he faced, doing drugs and many others things just so he could be 'cool' and to 'fit in'.

That is a basic sum up of what I am about or what 'my deal' is, I will be blogging when I feel like it, so thank you.

Jaiden.
